A variety of assistive devices are available for library customers to borrow from any of the 42 public libraries in the Pioneer Library System or through the Outreach Services Department at 2557 State Route 21, Canandaigua, NY 14424. Com-tek
Pioneer Library System owns three Com-tek Companion wireless F.M. systems for use by people who are hard of hearing. The kits are located at the System Office. Libraries may call to reserve the Com-tek for their own programming and also for their patrons. Individuals and/or organizations may also call Outreach Services at the System Office to make their own arrangements.
Each kit contains:
- 1 Transmitter
- 5 Personal Receivers
- Rechargeable Batteries
- 2 Earphone Assemblies
- 3 Headphones
- Neckloop Transductor
- Microphone and Clip
- Belt Pouches
- Carrying Case
- Instructions
Magnifiers
Many types of magnifiers may be borrowed through your local public
library from the Outreach Services Department at the Pioneer Library
System. Individuals and/or groups may borrow the following magnifiers
for a four week loan period:
- Desk Stand Magnifiers
- Hand-Held Magnifiers
- Illuminated Hand Reader Magnifiers
- Luxo Stand Magnifiers
- Magnifying Sheets
- Neck Suspension Magnifiers
- Small Stand Magnifiers
